Cherry Martini
Classically, a martini is made of only gin and dry vermouth, so it's not for everyone. However, my cherry martini recipe is refreshing and balanced with a clean base. However it still has a sweet and tangy flavor with the simple syrup and lime juice.
Chilled martini glass
Cocktail shaker
Cocktail picks
Bows (optional)
- 2 oz vodka
- 2 oz tart cherry juice
- 1/2 oz lime juice
- 1/4 - 1/2 oz simple syrup
- Ruby red cherries for garnish
Chill your martini glass by freezing it for about 10-15 minutes.
Fill your cocktail shaker with ice to about the halfway mark. Add 2 oz vodka, 2 oz cherry juice, 1/2 oz lime juice, and 1/4-1/2 oz simple syrup.
Shake vigorously for about 20 seconds.
Grab your glass from the freezer. Strain the cocktail into your martini glass.
Serve with a couple of fresh or maraschino cherries on a cocktail pick or directly into the drink.
You can also use gin instead of vodka! You can even add cherry liqueur or cherry brandy to this recipe but I personally think it adds too much of a "cough syrup" flavor.
