Making gift baskets is one of my favorite ways to show my friends and family how much I love them! I love the “Boo Basket” concept and wanted to make a “Boo-k Basket” for my favorite book loving friend. If you’re looking for more gift basket ideas, I have a blog post with all of my previous gift baskets you can check out here!

What I Bought for the Boo Basket

From Amazon:

With a bookish theme, I had to include a few fall reads. I’m currently reading Bride, and thought it would be perfect for the boo basket because it’s a paranormal romance featuring vampires and werewolves. How fitting for Halloween! Sally Rooney’s latest novel, Intermezzo, just came out so I had to include that too. I have a feeling it will be one of the most popular books this year!

I recently got this reading journal and loved it so much I knew my friend needed one in her boo basket too! I couldn’t resist adding this adorable Halloween themed coloring book. I know she already has some felt pens, but if you’re looking for markers for coloring books, I linked mine here, along with more cute coloring finds!

From Target:

Seasonal fall snacks and drinks are another great addition! Target always has the best options for seasonal snacks, candy, and especially cute hot cocoa bombs.

Everything Else:

You can also add fall candles, mugs, glasses. Anthropologie is always a great place to find seasonal decor!

Beauty items like sprays and lip balms are a go-to in my gift baskets. Two smaller beauty items that are always fan favorites are Summer Fridays lip balm (they have a new hot cocoa one!) and the Dae Hair Wand! For a boo basket, it’s so cute to use seasonal beauty items such as hot cocoa or pumpkin

How I Decorated the Boo Basket

What I used:

Along with the tissue paper, I personalized the basket with pink ghosts. This craft is really easy to recreate!

First, print out ghost images (you can easily find them via Google images) at 100% scale and a second time at 85% scale so you can easily cut out the shapes and layer them.

Second, tape the larger ghost to white card stock, and the smaller ghost to pink card stock. Using crafting scissors, cut each ghost out.

For the eyes and mouth, I placed a white sheet over the ghost stencil, and outlined the faces with a pen. If the card stock is too thick to see through, you can place a light underneath the papers

Third, glue everything together using this glue applicator!

Fourth, use these adorable clothes pins to attach the ghosts to the basket.
