Hi friends! I’m Maxie, and I am so happy you’re visiting my blog. After following fashion & lifestyle bloggers since college and always wishing I had a blog (and wondering how a Masters in Accounting was going to help me make one), I woke up one day and thought, “What’s stopping me?”. After coming up with some generic excuses; e.g. “I’m too busy, I don’t know how to get started, & I’m nervous of what people will think about me”, I decided I didn’t want to continue saying I wish I was doing something that I could do now. After a few months of research and a little anxiety, Maxie Elle was created. My day job involves me playing in Excel all day so I’m looking forward to having this outlet to get some creativity in my life and hopefully inspire you with my love of fashion, beauty and travel.
A few of my favorite things are my fiancé, Tyler, my fur babies, Coco and Gigi, food (I love trying new restaurants), champagne, Bravo, reading, and working out (I am still trying to convince myself this is actually a favorite. If I say it enough times, it will become one, right?). I’ve also always had a love for fashion, make-up, and shopping. When I was little, my favorite pastime involved making my mom watch me try on every item at Limited Too and hoarding hundreds of Lip Smackers. Now, I like to think I was preparing myself for a blogging future. A girl has to know what looks good on her, even if you are 8 years old.
In this post, I’m wearing an olive Free People romper I bought while I was in Chicago for my cousin’s bachelorette party. It ended up raining the entire weekend so we went shopping to avoid the downpour. Shopping is always better with girlfriends.
I love this romper because it’s petite-friendly. I’m about 5 foot, zero inches so I sometimes struggle to find rompers that look good on me. This one fits perfectly, but should probably serve as a warning for my tall friends that you need to size up or wear it somewhere you’re comfortable getting a little cheeky, like the beach. It is so comfortable and feels like you’re wearing an oversized t-shirt. I love dressing this romper up and wearing it with wedges, hoops, and bangles. I thought it went perfectly with a straw panama hat. It’s also super cute with flip flops and a floppy hat at the beach.
I fell in love with the olive color, but the romper also comes in grey, white, light pink, and dark pink (I thought this looked more orange in person). It’s currently on sale for under $50 here.
Thanks so much for reading!! I hope you’ll be back.
