Today I’m partnering with Ann Taylor to share how to incorporate the gingham trend into your wardrobe by showing three looks with gingham pieces. I have to admit, I was not sure how I felt about the gingham trend last year. I owned one gingham shirt, but I wasn’t willing to fully commit to it. When I realized it was going to be back this year, and I saw so many cute gingham pieces in Ann Taylor’s new spring line, I knew I was fully on board with the gingham trend.
GINGHAM TREND IDEAS WITH ANN TAYLOR
My first look includes an adorable gingham pencil skirt and flutter sleeve top. I love how this skirt takes a classic work piece like a pencil skirt and incorporates a spring trend like gingham. If I have to dress business casual, I definitely want to make it fun. The skirt is available in petite and tall sizes so it’s great for all heights. I love the gingham skirt paired with the flutter sleeve top, but it would be cute with any black top since the skirt is truly the statement piece of this outfit. This skirt is also super flattering. I sometimes avoid pencil skirts because I don’t think they always accentuate my favorite body parts, but this one isn’t too tight and made me feel really comfortable and confident. The flutter sleeve top is also adorable with jeans, and would look cute with the fringe jeans I’m styling later in this post.

Okay y’all, these gingham shoes! I fell in love with them when I saw them. I absolutely adore the bow detail and love how the shoes allow you to incorporate the gingham trend into your wardrobe without being too much. Since the shoes are navy, I wanted to wear them with something white, and I found this cute ruffle sleeve top. I paired it with these tie jeans for a more casual look, but the top would also be perfect with these ankle pants for work. My tie jeans come in petite and and tall sizes so the crop style will hit you in the perfect place. I normally have to buy capris to wear as ankle pants so I was really excited to find a pair of crops that fit like true crops. The tie detail is so fun for spring, and I’ve been wearing them nonstop since I got them two weeks ago.

I’m obsessed with gingham shoes as you can tell. Since I was hesitant about the gingham trend until recently, I loved the idea of adding shoes to my wardrobe to start incorporating it subtly. I couldn’t decide between the navy gingham bow shoes or these black gingham heels so I decided to get both. Why not, right? The black gingham heels would also look cute with the ruffle sleeve shirt I styled earlier, but I wanted to pair them with a black top to give more variety. This black off the shoulder top also looks adorable with the gingham skirt so all of these pieces are really versatile and interchangeable. You can see it styled with the skirt here. My fringe jeans have been my new go-to dark denim because they are so much more fun than my plain, dark jeans. Both of the jeans I’m styling are designed with lycra and are so stretchy and comfortable you’ll feel like you’re wearing leggings. All of my gingham pieces are perfect for spring, and if you have a few great basics like the tops and jeans I featured, you’ll be able to mix and match the items to put together a lot of cute spring looks.
