There’s nothing that makes my home feel more peaceful than a good organization project! A couple years ago, I organized the space under the kitchen sink, and the project turned out amazing! The storage space under the kitchen sink is one of the most used yet often neglected area in the home, but organizing the space can help make working in the kitchen more efficient, and save time and money in the long run! I’ve had so many questions since doing this project, so today I’m sharing my guide on how organize under the kitchen sink storage.
Having an efficient storage system makes accessing your items so much easier and helps to keep you from accidentally purchasing items you already have. Today I’m going to talk about all of the things I store under the sink, and all of the different storage options and methods that you can implement to your space.
I’m so glad I took a “before” picture of this space because the difference is astounding! The area was so cluttered and I kept way too much stuff under the sink!

You can keep not only kitchen cleaning items under your sink, but you can also store cleaning supplies for the whole house! Depending on how much space is under your sink, you may end up with empty areas, so why not take advantage of it? Here’s some ideas of things you can store under your kitchen sink:
These 2 tier under the sink organizers are super useful because they’re built to avoid the pipes! I bought one for each side of my sink and it was the perfect fit – while leaving space in the middle for more organizers and the garbage disposal. The upper section is great for small items and sponges, while the bottom pullout drawer is great for spray bottles and whatnot. I keep my cleaning sprays and refill bottles in this drawer area, and it can hold up to 50 lbs. of cleaning products! Be sure to use the plastic drawer sheet to keep the items flat and stable!
These organizers are extremely easy to assemble and when I ordered two, I wasn’t sure how it was gonna work. However, you can easily adjust the sink organizer drawer in order to mirror itself and have one on each side of your sink space! It comes with instructions in order to do so, but when you build this organizer, you’ll add bolts to whichever side is the back of the drawer. For example, in the picture above, there are 2 bolts attached on the backside of the drawer which allows it to pull open front the front. And for the next organizer, you can just place the bolts on the opposite side of the drawer – so there’s one for each side on your garbage disposal! And the little hooks can be placed wherever you would like.
This dish pod dispenser makes it so easy to grab your a dish pod. I love it loads from the top, but you can grab them from the bottom – so if you add fresh ones to the top, you won’t be neglecting the older ones!
This garbage bag dispenser is similar to the dish pod holder, and they look so clean together. You can even mount this to the wall if you’re working with a bigger space, such as a pantry.
These stackable drawers came in so handy for storing my sponges, dry erasers, and rags! It comes with movable separators which I used between the sponges and rags! I also love that it keeps them dry in case of a leak.
These bamboo shelf separators made such a difference in maximizing the small storage space. It’s important to make the most of the area in your sink cabinet while also not overloading it. So I like that these shelf separators made it feel more functional! I think without them it’d look quite thrown together and the dispensers would’ve been too big to sit on the drawer alone.
I keep a wider version of these inside my dish cabinets for separating bowls! Stacking so many bowls looks quite cluttered sometimes and I think they look really cute with big bowls and little dip bowls all together. You can also use them for mugs and shorter drinking glasses – such as the icon style cups.
I love these little towel hooks but you can also use a classic hook or bar as well. They attach with strong adhesive tape which makes them so easy to attach and remove! I’m always looking for renter friendly options and these work perfectly. Another great thing about these hooks, is that they come in so many color ways to match your kitchen’s aesthetic.
This wipe holder is so great at keeping wipes moist longer! The lids always break off Clorox and Lysol wipe containers, causing them to quickly dry out. But with this container, all you do is simply unscrew the lid of the dispenser, set aside, and remove the lid from the Clorox or Lysol canister. Next, you’ll simply slide the whole canister in, and then thread the wipe through, and you’re ready to go!
I keep another one of these wipe canisters in my car trunk area, and it comes in so handy because you never know when there’s a mess! Before this, I use to just keep the Clorox container in my trunk but they would dry out after a few months because I didn’t need them too often. So this canister will keep your wipes moist for however long you need, and then when you really need them – perhaps a spill or dirty paw prints – the wipes won’t be dried out!
I love to use reusable spray bottles for my cleaning products and they look so much better under the sink instead of various sized bottles. The Grove and Co. bottles are my favorite because you can order whatever color you’d like and then use the slide and snap silicone sleeve to reveal whichever label reflects your cleaning product.
I didn’t implement this one yet, but if you have the space, a paper towel bar is a great option too for under the sink! It’s important to not store exposed paper towels underneath your sink because there’s nothing worse than a leak ruining all of them. However, this option keeps it off the ground and away from pipes!
Everything is renter friendly and fit so perfectly under my sink. My kitchen isn’t the biggest, so I’m always looking for new organization ideas to get the most use out of my space!
