If you’re a fan of matcha and coconut, this Matcha Coconut Cloud recipe is the perfect combination of flavors. It’s light, fluffy, delicious, – and healthy! Whether you’re starting your day or need an afternoon pick me up, this may be for you. I even made mine a little special with a pink and green color scheme!
A matcha coconut cloud is a fluffy and healthy matcha treat! I’ll explain just how to make it in this blog post, but it’s essentially matcha powder whisked with heavy cream and coconut milk, and then served over coconut water on ice. It’s sort of like a matcha coconut dessert!
Yes! Matcha has so many health benefits because it’s full of antioxidants, it’s great for your metabolism and it’s a healthy boost of energy! The creamy goodness of coconut is also great for you because of it’s health benefits, such as healthy fat and fiber.
Using the pink coconut water from Trader Joe’s or Harmless Harvest creates the cutest pink and green color combo.
In a drinking glass, combine the heavy cream, coconut milk, and maple syrup (to taste).
Important Notes:
The coconut water is quite sweet at the end so you’ll want to avoid making your cloud too sweet with maple syrup.
The mixture won’t whisk as well if you use a wider cup or bowl. It should be combined in a more narrow sized drinking glass so that the liquid is deeper.
Place the sieve over the cup and scoop 1 teaspoon of matcha onto it. Using your chashaku, gently push the powder through the sieve, allowing it to snow down onto the milk.
Important Notes:
The sieve is a must in order to avoid clumps in your matcha!
Using a handheld milk frother, whisk the mixture until it’s thick, light, and fluffy.
Important Notes:
To avoid a mess, gently mix the powder into the milk with the frother OFF, and then turn it on.
In a new glass, pour coconut water over ice and top with your matcha coconut cloud. You can either spoon or gently pour the mixture so it rests on top.
Mix and enjoy!
