To kick off the winter season, I wanted to host a cozy winter gathering. So I invited my friends over for a paint and sip party fitted with hot cocoa, treats and paint sets! I’ve created a step-by-step guide to hosting a chic, cozy “Paint n’ Sip” party, if you wanted to recreate this festive atmosphere and yummy treats made for a memorable winter gathering with your friends and family!
For my paint n’ sip party, I set up a hot cocoa bar, paint-by-numbers paint sets and wintery treats! To create the perfect cozy, winter-inspired ambiance, I brought out some cute, winter decorations from Amazon, Anthropologie, Target, and MacKenzie Childs.
This hot cocoa bar was so much fun to put together and ended up being perfect for my paint n’ sip party! First, I set up this amazing acacia wood tea bag organizer from Amazon! My MacKenzie Childs tea kettle looked so cute with the matching sugar bowl, mugs and saucers.
I found super cute sugar bowls, one from MacKenzie Childs and one from Target. I filled them with two different hot cocoa flavors; white chocolate and marshmallow!
I got this adorable condiment set from Amazon and thought it’d be perfect for a hot cocoa bar. I filled them with crushed peppermint candy, marshmallows, and chocolate chips!
I put out two whipped cream options from Target; classic and marshmallow (to the keep the marshmallow theme going of course!). Target had so many fun flavors to choose from, such as gingerbread, peppermint, pecan pie, and even hot cocoa flavored whipped cream.
You’ll want to make sure you don’t leave the whip cream out for longer than an hour or so to avoid spoiling it.
Right before my guests arrived, I heated up some oat milk on the stove and then poured it into the tea kettle for easier serving!
For stirring the hot cocoa, I thought it’d be fun to use edible candy cane spoons! I placed them in my little creamer cup. They were such a fun touch. Matching mugs and saucers were such a cute moment for my girly party as well.
I made some fun winter recipes and I really wanted to display my holiday treats in a memorable way, so I found some fun serving trays. The unique patterns and vibrant colors definitely added a whimsical touch to the party! This handmade tiered dessert tray was definitely the star of the show and paired so well with my adorable bow plate from Anthropologie. And these fluted plates might be the prettiest, girliest plates I’ve ever seen. I think the food setup turned out so cute!
These festive holiday recipes were all so easy to make and turned out so cute! I’ve linked my winter party recipes if you wanted to try them at home.
My ceramic winter houses from Target and cocktail napkins from Anthropologie made for the cutest final touches at the hot cocoa and treat bar.
I think the paint by numbers kits were my favorite part of the entire party. I found some really cute ones on Amazon that came with all of the colors, brushes, and even an easel! So I bought two of the snowy city scapes along with two of the sled scenes, for the four of us to choose from.
I created a paint station in the center of the table with more paint brushes and water cups on a serving platter. I already owned 11 inch easels so I used them instead of the ones included! You can choose from endless paint by numbers options, but a snowy cabin or winter scene is the perfect cozy vibe.
To finish off the tablescape, I draped two dusty pinks cheese cloths along the middle of the table and decorated it with flowers and candles. I used pink bud vases from Amazon and filled them with baby’s breath and baby pink roses. My gold candlestick holders are from Amazon, along with the ivory candlesticks and DIY bows. The pink placemats are very important because they’re easy to wash if the painting activity gets a little messy!
If you’re looking for cozy holiday party ideas, hot cocoa and paint-by-numbers was such a fun combo! The holiday season is full of fun memories, and I hope you add a winter paint and sip night to your winter bucket list.
