My reading nook project is officially underway, starting with a new bookshelf, fun styling, and the coziest chair.
There are few things that bring me more joy than browsing bookstores, buying books & reading. Having a reading corner in my home has always been on my wishlist & we’re finally making it happen! My book collection keeps growing and the TBR pile under my need deserved a proper home. I found the perfect solution on Amazon I think you’ll love too! I also included a list so you can browse all of the books on my shelves here!
When you choose the location in your home for a reading corner, it’s very important to pick a place that you want to sit for hours in! Whether it’s your living room, bedroom, or office, make sure it isn’t somewhere cramped. For your cozy reading corner, you’ll need a few feet of floor space with lots of natural light. My cozy reading chair has a pullout ottoman where I store my blankets. Throw pillows also make for a cute touch.

I’m really excited that my reading corner is almost complete! I didn’t have much space for a reading corner but I’ve somehow made it work in my office! The rotating bookshelf is definitely a game changer for storing so many books in a small area. This boucle chair/ottoman duo has also been so comfy for reading – I love that you can store blankets in the ottoman and slide it under the chair when you’re not using it! The floor lamp is new addition as well, from Amazon, and it’s perfect for reading because you can adjust the height as well as the brightness! While I’m still on the hunt for cute wall decor and shelves, I’m so pleased with how it’s come together.

When I created a reading corner, I knew I wanted to feature a rotating bookshelf with some personal touches such as decorative items. I’m a major book lover, but it’s fun to incorporate elements, such as artwork and crystals, so that my corner displays a few of my other interests and aesthetics as well. I had so much fun creating a space that reflects all of my favorite things and it’s boosted my reading habits and the frequency of my reading sessions immensely! I love nothing more than snuggling up in my cozy reading nook with a good book.

My cousin recently visited me and she is a bookworm just like me! We decided to have a 24 hour readathon and it was my total dream. We went to my favorite used bookstore located in San Clemente called Beach Town Books. I brought a bunch of books I had already read and found a bunch more to bring home! I love that they sell so many used books because it’s so much better for the planet if we recycle books – and it’s a lot more cost effective! They also sell the cutest bookmarks and stickers – which I’m always a sucker for. I found my favorite sticker from their store on Etsy here. After book shopping, we had to get our morning matcha pick-me-up at Sur Coffee. From there, we loaded up on fruit and snacks at Trader Joe’s and got started on our readathon!
I just bought this convertible bean bag chair and it was so perfect for the occasion! The dogs thught it was for them, of course! With matching blankets and oversized pillows, it was the best readathon setup. I can’t wait to do the challenge again in the fall.
I bought A Court of Thorns and Roses for my cousin as a part of her welcome gift and I’m so excited that she decided to start the ACOTAR series! And I was so happy when she picked up the Women Who Run With The Wolves. It’s truly such a transformative read that I recommend to everyone.
After a few hours, we took a quick trip and read on the the beach! I packed some fruit in my favorite travel containers, and some drinks into my adorable new Hydroflask cooler. It was definitely my favorite part of the readathon.
My friend and I decided to have a little reading date recently and it was the most perfect Sunday. We went for a quick grocery run and bought the yummiest snacks – the “Yumy Bear” sour watermelon flavor was AMAZING. We brought out the matching Kindle stands and daybed, and it was the coziest bestie date.
